Fonts play a very important role in website design. You can have great imagery and color selections, but with the wrong font your site visitors might not linger long enough to browse your website content and learn about you.
To go along with our latest website theme releases, Amelia and Beatrice, our designers have selected 12 modern, updated fonts. Each of these 12 new fonts can now be used with any template offered in your Bandzoogle account — mix and match and see if a new font will make your design pop even more.
The best font for your music website is one that displays your information clearly, and with style. This can mean using more than one font style, which you can set in your Bandzoogle Edit Theme tab, and change any time:
- Content font is the smallest text on your website, so it should be tidy and easy to read. This keeps the visitor's experience of your website or EPK smooth as they scan through your page(s). You want them to linger to read more about your music, so their experience of navigating your content text should be seamless.
- Title and heading fonts are the larger fonts that tend to define page sections and set a rhythm in your layout, so these can be bold and more heavily stylized (though still legible!).
- Menu font style is pretty flexible in terms of style; if you have a one-page website (EPK), you need not set a font since there won't be a navigation menu on your page. But if you have multiple pages on your website, select a font that's stylish and clear. This can be a bold or subtle font, depending on the mood you want to set — just be sure that the words are easy to read overtop of the background, making it easy for your site visitors to decide which page they want to load next.
- The site title font is the really fun one — it sets the tone of your website as people load the first page and see your name across their screen. Use a font style here that communicates the vibe of your music: Calm? Busy? Intense? Subtle? However the energy of your music guides your site title font style selection, remember one thing: clarity. Your name should always be easy to read. This doesn't mean you can't have fun with the letter spacing and sizing, though — on the contrary, these fresh new fonts encourage you to play a bit!
You can change fonts any time in your 'Edit Theme' tab without affecting the layout of your page content — changing font styles just gives your existing page content a refreshing new look. This type of update is great if you've got a new release coming out — consider adding a new header image and updating the site title and heading font styles to give your page a fresh style that reflects your new release. This is a convenient option when you'd like to give your website some updated flair without changing the content on your pages.
Each new font was selected by our design team, with modern website style trends in mind. This provides you with a simple way to update your website to keep it current with modern website design trends. You can easily apply personality and expression to your website with contemporary taste this way.
