If there’s one thing we stress to all musicians marketing their music, it’s email, email, and email. Whether you’re looking to build up your fanbase, or keep that connection strong, email is the key to success for musicians.
When it comes to your website, collecting emails is now easier than ever. We’ve just rolled out a mailing list signup option right in the header area, as part of the call-to-action.
This update that will prompt your fans to join your mailing list right away when they get to your website!
Want to add this to your website now, without changing anything else about your design or content? Here’s how:
Adding the mailing list call-to-action
Click Add Feature, then choose ‘Call-to-action’ and add it to your template. Next, choose mailing list signup from the display options.
If you’ve already got a call-to-action and want to try this, click on your current call-to-action to edit it, and choose the mailing list signup option.
You can position the mailing list call-to-action within your header area on the left, center, or right, and move it to the top or bottom.
Adjust the text for the title that will appear over your mailing list, and add a description that will appear just above the form.
The other options are important ones too - they will help you grow and cultivate your list.

Group new email addresses
First, you can add new signups to a group. This way, you can reach out to new signups directly, sending them a welcome message, or some information that your entire list has already received.
Free music downloads for an email address
Next, you can offer a free download on signup. Then when someone signs up to your list, they will automatically get an email with a free download. This is a nice way to entice people to join your list, especially if you’re offering a brand new single, or a previously unreleased track.
Make sure it stands out
The last thing you’ll want to check is that the button of your mailing list signup form is easy to read. You can adjust the button style in your the Theme Editor, making it solid if it’s hard to see.
